Capacity Building on Theory of Change and M&E with Centre for Catalyzing Change

Background Context:
Development Solutions (DS) was appointed by C3 to build capacities on Theory of Change (ToC) and basics of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Following the successful completion of four workshops and feedback from participants, DS extended support to C3 to enable the development of ToCs for three program verticals/pillars, and the organization.

Approach and Methodology
Pre workshop activity:
- DS team shared ToC templates with C3 teams
- The DS team conducted virtual workshops with the C3 vertical teams to understand their work and also supported them in becoming familiar with the ToC framework.
- C3 teams developed a zero-draft of the ToC by identifying/defining the program activities, outputs, and key outcomes for their respective verticals.
- DS team facilitated an in-person workshop with each vertical team on brainstorming and discussing the ToC zero-draft developed by the C3 team.
- DS team finalised and revised the zero-draft based on the C3 vertical-level feedback received during the workshop.
- Presentation of revised draft of the ToC to respective verticals/ leadership teams.
- Developed output and outcome indicators (Results Framework) for the finalised ToCs.
- DS team drafted the organizational ToC based on the vertical ToCs and workshop.
- Conducted a day long workshop to review and brainstorm the organizational ToC.
- Feedback incorporation and finalisation of the organizational ToC.
