Background Context: A new draft National Health Policy 2015 was prepared and shared in the public domain for comments and feedback. The Draft Health Policy 2015 while recognizing the achievements made so far, sought to build on it. The policy sought to take forward the architectural corrections made earlier by outlining key policy directions to ensure comprehensive health care, possibly as a right to the citizens of the country.

A consultation with Civil Society Organizations and representatives was organized by NHSRC on 4th March 2015, at the Teaching Block, National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) Campus, New Delhi, with support from Development Solutions. Impact
The consultation with civil society organizations and representatives from across the country enabled inputs on the draft National Health Policy, prior to its release in 2017. The consultation was attended by representatives of the NHSRC and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The key inputs from the consultation - to inform the Health Policy were shared as a report.
