Population Foundation of India (PFI) is implementing a project titled, ‘Scoping for expansion of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in India’. The project seeks to create new narratives around CSE in India, mainstream it and institutionalize the delivery models by integrating them within the existing government schemes. For it to do so, an Opinion Study is proposed to be conducted at the national level and in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Manipur.
Objectives
The study seeks to understand the following objectives – in the four study states and at a national level:
- Identifying key stakeholders and understanding their knowledge, Attitude and Perceptions (KAPs) towards ARSH and CSE
- Identifying key barriers and challenges restricting the mainstreaming and expansion of ARSH and CSE programs in states
- Identifying potential influencers among stakeholders who can be champions for ARSH and CSE in each state.
- Outlining recommendations for mainstreaming and expanding ARSH and CSE in each state.
Approach and methodology
The research methodology for conducting the opinion study will be iterative and non-linear across all the study locations. Stakeholders Mapping, Desk Research and Qualitative Interactions would inform the study. The overall study methodology would be:
- Detailed desk research and literature review – Qualitative and Quantitative
- In-depth Interview (IDI) with key stakeholders
